Patrick Hoover joined Fortress Family Law in 2026 from CNL Law Firm, where he served as a senior attorney. He has practiced family law for more than a decade, with a five star client review average on Avvo and a three year run on the American Association of Family Law Attorneys’ Top 10 Under 40 list from 2018 through 2020.
His practice centers on divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, and protection orders, with additional experience in estate planning that helps clients see the whole financial picture. Earlier in his career he handled family law litigation at Elkus and Sisson and at Cordell and Cordell.
Patrick earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014, where he received CALI awards for top marks, and his undergraduate degree from Rhodes College. I hired Patrick over 5 years ago when my son’s dad tried to gain full custody by accusing me of child abuse. It was terrifying and devastating. Patrick went above and beyond for both me and my son. Over the next 4 years, Patrick stuck by me; days when I was super emotional and upset, and days when I could breathe and accept the sickness of my son’s dad. My son’s dad tried this trick 2 more times, putting us through hell. 2.5 years later and lots of therapy for both my son and I, Patrick helped me gain full custody.
